Howdy Knitter!

I know you came looking for some groovy hand-dyed yarn, and are probably a bit dismayed to see that it's all disappeared. Actually, if you've checked the site at any point in the past 9 months, you probably wondered if I was even still alive, or if perhaps I drowned in a dye bath. Well, I'm still here, but as you can see, haven't had much time to do any dyeing lately.

After grad school, I got a really great job, and have pretty much been working away as a supernerd all day long for the past few months. While finishing my MS, I lost sight of how much I loved engineering as the homework and thesis research piled up. Now that I'm free of all that, and I can go to work and just be an engineer, I'm in love again. Needless to say, I have little free time these days, and I prefer just to putz around the garden and doing some personal knitting to unwind.

I suppose all this is to say, I'm still alive and doing well, but unfortunately I'm going to be suspending Yarn Nerd indefinitely. It's possible the bug may bite again someday, and I'll want to do nothing more than slave away over the hot dye pots until the wee hours of the morning. But until then, I'm pretty content spending days with my graphing calculator and nights with the pointy sticks, and doing a bit of dyeing for my own self here and there.

I do want to express my extreme gratitude to everyone who supported me in my yarn dyeing endeavors these past few years. I had a blast, and am very thankful for the wonderful community of knitters here on the internets. You guys are really awesome, and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had with Yarn Nerd these past 2 years. Feel free to check my blog at www.adamknits.com, but it took me 9 months to get around to this note, so it might be a while on a blog post. ;)

Thanks again,
Adam, the Yarn Nerd.
